About Mrs. Kostan
Welcome to my personal page on our classroom website. On this page you will get the opportunity to learn a little bit more about me.
I am so fortunate to teach at such a wonderful school with so many wonderful families and students. I think Manhattan Beach is a great place to live!
I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with from the University of California, Los Angeles. Go Bruins! I then worked in the entertainment business for over 13 years. After leaving my job to spend time with my children, I decided to go back to school to get my teaching credential. I earned my teaching credential from California State University, Domiguez Hills. I also acquired my GATE certification through UC Irvine in the summer of 2012.
I was born and raised here in Manhattan Beach. I am married to Tyson and have two children, Tara and Trevor, and a cat named Coconut. My daughter, Tara, graduated from Sonoma State University with a degree in sociology and is enrolled in the teacher credential program at Cal Sate Dominguez. She is currently a special education aide here at Meadows. Trevor graduated from University of Oregon with a degree in economics and business. Both Tara and Trevor attended Meadows School.
I have been teaching full time as a fourth grade teacher going on my eleventh year. I love teaching and have found the perfect grade to teach!
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love to travel and go to Hawaii and Mammoth often. My favorite place to visit is Paris, although I hope to go to Italy someday. Some hobbies I have include cooking, sewing, and reading. I also enjoy working with computers and technology. I love learning more about how we can use technology and iPads in our classroom to make our learning adventure even more exciting.
Thanks for taking the time to learn about me!
